Worked as an Applied Research Fellow at the Centre of Visual Information Technology Lab, IIIT Hyderabad, where Prof. Ravi Kiran Sarvadevabhatla and Prof. C V Jawahar guided me.
Worked on detecting vehicle lights and classifying their states by training multiple object detection models, including YOLOv7, YOLOv5, YOLOv4, Faster R-CNN, and MobileNet.
Used the Indian Driving Dataset (IDD) to train and test the detection and classification system.
YOLO V7 achieved the best results with an 88.4\% mAP and was fine-tuned to improve the detection accuracy for small lights.
Applied the color thresholding principle for red and white light recognition in diverse environments.
